LGBTQ+ & Identity Difficulties Therapy in Manhattan

The most fundamental aspect of a persons experience and being able to relate to others is there sexual identity, as a lack of self understanding has consequences related to a persons self esteem and emotional well being.
Clients who struggle with self acceptance may struggle with pressures from a combined sources such as family, traditional or religious communities.
Many clients struggle who do struggle with their experience may have internalized it in a negative and self destructive manner causing distress, depression and thoughts of suicide.
For some clients the road to self acceptance and disclosure has never been difficult. However they may want to participate in therapy and seek assistance with unrelated difficulties and issues, such as relationship problems, assertiveness, anxiety, changes in mood and trauma.
How I work with LGBTQ+ Concerns
As an LGBTQ advocate I work to provide a safe space for my clients to discuss and to explore their experiences.
As a psychotherapist and educator, I personally believe in the concept of encouraging LGBTQ+ members to be representatives of their experience.
I believe that diversity needs to be respected as it is important and makes society better place.
